  1. Okay, yes, you have a basis here for a character who has a lot of potential for growth and change. There are a few things that stand out here to make Olivia more than a stock character. First, she's got a dead sibilng. Dead sibilings always trump living ones, so it could be that she's been carrying the weight of that for some time. Where is her mom with her grief? How did this impact her childhood? Is there any way that you might connect the dead sister to other parts of her personality, such as her desire to save lions in Africa? Could it be that she feels somewhat responsible either for the loss of her sister or the fact that she hasn't been able to make up for it to her mom? How aware is she of her own vulnerability? Characters who know themselves well and are self-reflective already require greater impetus for change. Characers who are still figuring out who they are have the most potential for change--so think about where she is in her own self-awareness, and how you might use the podcast scene as a place where she could experience change or greater understanding about something.
